Published 2026-10-23 · Travel, [skoop.news](https://skoop.news/) ## In brief - Hilton expects to grow Pay with Points from 150 US hotels at launch to more than 800 by the end of 2026. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) - You review your hotel bill, pick from the available redemption options and apply points toward eligible charges. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) - The initial launch is limited to participating US hotels. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) ## A new way to spend Honors points Hilton expects to grow Pay with Points from 150 US hotels at launch to more than 800 by the end of 2026. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) If you collect Hilton Honors points, the new benefit adds a way to redeem them alongside reward stays and experiences. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) This piece covers how the benefit works, where it is available, why Hilton built it and what the company has left out of its announcement. ## How Pay with Points works You review your hotel bill, pick from the available redemption options and apply points toward eligible charges. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) The whole process takes place in the app, with no visit to reception. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Availability and redemption options vary by property. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Pay with Points joins existing app features Digital Check In, Digital Key and Choose Your Room. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Hilton claims it is the first major hotel brand to offer something like this through a fully digital check-out experience with no front desk visit required. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) ## Where and when it rolls out The initial launch is limited to participating US hotels. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Hilton is using the first phase to test and refine the experience before extending availability. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) The company expects more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) It then expects more than 6,000 participating properties across the US and Canada in early 2027. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) The broader rollout is scheduled to reach Canada in early 2027. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) ## Why Hilton is offering it Hilton says the service responds to demand for more flexible ways to use points during a stay. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) In Hilton research, 70% of Hilton Honors members surveyed expressed interest in using points for on-property purchases. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Around half of surveyed members said the option could make them more likely to book or stay with Hilton. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Brad Anderson, Vice President of the Hilton Honors Program, said members have told Hilton they want more flexibility in using points. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) He said members can already redeem points for free night stays or money-can't-buy experiences around the world. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Anderson said Pay with Points is another digitally-enabled tool that reduces the friction of travel and gives members choice and control. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) ## What Hilton has not said about value Hilton's announcement does not specify a standard points-to-cash conversion rate or a full list of eligible charges. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Hilton is not stating how much value members will get per point when redeeming through Pay with Points. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) Other programs already offer something related: Accor Live Limitless, Global Hotel Alliance and World of Hyatt let members redeem points toward hotel costs at check-out. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) For a benchmark, the OMAAT author values Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents each. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) The same author estimates that redeeming Hilton points toward Amazon purchases yields 0.2 cents of value per point. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) ## What it means for you If you stay at one of the 150 participating US hotels, you can review your bill in the app and apply points to eligible charges without going to reception. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Check your property first, because availability and redemption options vary by property. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Before you spend points, look at the redemption options the app shows you, since Hilton has not published a standard conversion rate or a full list of eligible charges. [[1]](https://www.travelwires.com/hilton-launches-pay-with-points-for-hotel-bills-in-its-app/) Hilton is also not stating the value per point, so the OMAAT author's figure of 0.5 cents per point is one reference to hold in mind. [[2]](https://onemileatatime.com/news/hilton-pay-with-points-app-feature/) If you stay in Canada, the broader rollout is scheduled to reach you in early 2027.
